Girl Fights Off Attacker in El Dorado County

POLLOCK PINES, CA - Authorities have put out a warning about a kidnapping and attempted sexual assault in El Dorado County on Thursday.

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office said a 14-year-old girl on a walking trail in the Pollock Pines area about 5 p.m. Thursday afternoon was attacked by a man and dragged off the trail. The girl told sheriff's deputies the assailant attempted to sexually attack her but she fought him off and ran away.

The girl described the attacker as white and in his late 20s with a medium to muscular build. He is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and about 180 pounds. The man has short, straight reddish brown hair; a reddish goatee and a fair complexion. He was wearing a red and black, checked long-sleeved shirt and dark, tight-fitting pants.

Deputies said they searched the area but didn't find the man. Local schools were informed of the incident. Anyone who may have information on the assailant or attack was urged to contact the sheriff's office at (530) 621-6600.
