GUSTINE, Calif. (AP) -- Merced County investigators are looking for members of what they term "an outlaw motorcycle gang" after a 33-year-old man was stabbed to death in a bar fight.

Authorities say Bill James Jr. died shortly after being stabbed during the fight in a bar in Gustine around 11:26 p.m. Friday.

Detectives say they have leads in the case, but have not revealed the name of the motorcycle gang they suspect was responsible for the stabbing.

Sheriff Mark Pazin says detectives believe James was stabbed after the suspects left a biker event and went to the bar looking for a member of a rival biker gang.

Pazin say it's not known whether the suspects were searching for James, or if he was an arbitrary target.
