VALLEJO, CA -- Hundreds of people lined up in Vallejo in the rain on Friday to get their H1N1 swine flu vaccine, following the latest shipment of the vaccine to Solano County.
The Solano County Public Health Dept. had 1,500 doses of the vaccine left on Friday, and officials were encouraging high risk groups to get the shot.
The California Highway Patrol estimated the crowd outside the Georgia Street clinic at up to 800 shortly after the clinic opened in an old bank building at 1 p.m.
Public health officials held a clinic on Thursday in Rio Vista where 950 people received the H1N1 vaccine.
The Solano County Public Health Dept. defined high risk groups as pregnant women, children and young adults under 24, caregivers of children younger than 6-months-old, people ages 6 months to 64 years who have a higher risk of influenza complications, and healthcare and emergency service providers.
