SACRAMENTO, CA - The Sacramento Kings said leading scorer Kevin Martin has a hairline fracture in his left wrist and was expected to miss up to two months of action.
An MRI taken Thursday revealed a non displaced hairline fracture of the navicular bone in Martin's left wrist. The team said treatment options are currently being evaluated.
After Thursday's Kings practice, team Vice President Geoff Petrie said Martin had three options, including putting the wrist in a cast or surgery. Each option would take six to eight weeks to heal.
"Or there's some possibility he could try to play with it," Petrie said.
"I'm going to get some good sleep on it tonight and make a decision tomorrow," Martin said. "I played through it last night. We'll just have to see."
Martin is averaging 30.6 points a game for the Kings, who have lost four of five games to open the season. Sacramento was an NBA-worst 17-65 last season.
