DAVIS, CA - A California Northern Railroad train was backing up just before one of the rail cars tipped and derailed, according to surveillance video shot at the scene of the accident in Davis Tuesday.
The cars were loaded with non-hazardous agricultural lime when it tipped around 4 p.m. near Eighth and G streets, according to the Davis Fire Department.
The video was shot by cameras from the Davis Food Co-op, which sits immediately in front of the affected tracks.
No one was hurt and the accident didn't impact any regular train traffic. The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
Crews were on the scene Wednesday clearing away the train cars. By 4 p.m., all but one of the affected cars had been removed.
