DAVIS, CA -- Crews are working to clear a train derailment in Davis. A crane was brought in overnight to lift the rail cars back onto the tracks.
The California Northern Railroad train had three of its cars tip over Tuesday afternoon. The cars were loaded with non-hazardous agricultural lime, according to the Davis Fire Department.
There are multiple train tracks in the area, so train traffic is not affected by the overturned cars.
Traffic is closed in the area of 6th and G street until the cleanup is completed. Only a small amount of material was spilled.
Railroad crews are looking into why the cars tipped over.
