MERCED, CA - A vehicle crash in Iraq has claimed the life of a Merced soldier.
The Department of Defense said Pfc. Lukas C. Hopper, 20, died Oct. 30 of injuries when his vehicle overturned southeast of Karadah, Iraq.
Hopper was serving with the 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
