SACRAMENTO, CA - Grateful Dog in midtown Sacramento bills itself as the only truly green dog day care and dog grooming place in the city.
"Nearly everything is made locally, sustainable with organic materials, recycled materials, or something that can be recycled," said owner Robert Espinosa.
For example, the dog beds were once soda bottles, since recycled. Collars and leashes are made from hemp and organic cotton. The biodegradable poop bags are made out of corn. Even the cleaning products used are green. The daycare and overnight boarding is cage-free.
"I like these people but it makes me feel better that they are doing something for the environment," said pet owner Dotty Lee.
