SACRAMENTO, CA - An early morning rollover crash involving two cars near the intersection of Bruceville and Calvine Roads knocked out power to several SMUD customers for a short time Tuesday.
The accident happened just before 5 a.m. and closed all northbound lanes of Bruceville just south of Calvine for about an hour.
Responding officials said one vehicle with two passengers reportedly overturned and crashed into a power pole, knocking down the pole and power lines across Bruceville Road. The two passengers were transported to a nearby hospital for precuationary reasons.
Sacramento Police officers found the second vehicle overturned in a nearby field. The passengers in that vehicle were also transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Power has been restored to 38 residents affected by the outage, however, some signal lights still remain out.
No word yet on what caused the two cars to overturn.
