SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- California lawmakers were raking in campaign contributions during the final weeks of the legislative session, a time when the fate of hundreds of bills is decided.

A report issued Wednesday by the Fair Political Practices Commission shows that more than a quarter of all fundraisers for lawmakers held in Sacramento during the legislative year were during the last three weeks of the session.

Lawmakers held more than 325 fundraisers in Sacramento in 2009. Of that, 86 were between Aug. 24 and Sept. 11.

Additional information requested by The Associated Press revealed that Democratic Sen. Leland Yee of San Francisco and Democratic Assemblyman Joe Coto of San Jose were the top solicitors.

Reports showing how much money the fundraisers brought in will not be available until February.
