SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Actress Teal Wicks really loves being a wicked witch. At least, she likes playing one everynight for packed audiences at the smash musical, Wicked.

Wicks who is 26-years-old, landed the lead role of the green witch, Elphaba last year while touring with the Los Angeles company of Wicked.

"It's the role I've wanted to play ever since I was a kid growing up in Sacramento. It's a dream come true for me," said Wicks.

Wicks grew up along Garden Highway and attended Natomas High School. Her parents still live in Sacramento.

Wicked is the untold 'backstory' of the witches of Oz. Wicks' role is demanding. Flying a broomstick and belting out song after song while wearing bright green make-up, from head to toe.

"I get green everynight for the show- it takes about 25 minutes, it makes me a greener shade of teal," jokes Wicks.

Wicked is now playing at the Orpheum Theater in San Francisco on an extended run.

"Come see me Sacramento, you're so close!" said Wicks.
