PLACERVILLE, CA - Two kittens a veterinarian said had been restrained, beaten and tortured to death were left in front of Placerville's animal shelter.
The approximately 4-month-old kittens were discovered in front of the shelter on Placerville Drive the morning of Aug. 12, said Christy Kessler with El Dorado County's Health Services Department.
"It is appalling and distressing that these kittens had to suffer such a horrific death," said Lt. Warren Candler, Supervising Animal Services Officer. "We are concerned about the seriousness of this crime against animals and are actively collecting evidence."
The Humane Society is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) who intentionally killed the kittens. Anyone with information about the kittens is urged to contact animal services Officer Heather Gildersleeve at (530) 621-7641.
