SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA - Fire crews remained at the site of a grassfire in southeast Sacramento County that quickly grew to 1,800 acres Wednesday afternoon.
The six-alarm fire was south of Florin and Knox roads, said the Sacramento Metro Fire Department. It was reported at 2 p.m.
Structures were threatened but did not burn. Some residents evacuated their horses as a precaution.
Fire officials say the flames were knocked down but because of winds, crews were keeping an eye out for flare-ups.
