SACRAMENTO, CA - Some of the best films you've never heard of are playing over the next 10 days in Sacramento.

The 2009 festival launched Friday at the Crest with a special screening of the locally-produced psychological thriller "Sensored."

The film stars a familiar face to television fans -- actor Robert Picardo, whose decades of credits include roles like the holographic Doctor on "Star Trek: Voyager" and Dr. Dick Richards on "China Beach."

Other features include short films in the 10 by 10 Challenge, forcing filmmakers to create a 10-minute film in only 10 days.

The festival runs through August 2. A schedule of films and ticket information is available at the festival's Web site.
