ELK GROVE, CA - Elk Grove police arrested a 14-year-old boy in the death of another 14-year-old teen found unconcious Sunday after witnesses said he was in a fight with two attackers.
Ronald Tre Kenoly was found unconscious on the front lawn of a home on the 8600 block of Heritage Hill Drive around 12:20 a.m. Sunday, Elk Grove police spokesman Christopher Trim said.
Thursday evening, investigators arrested a 14-year-old in connection with Kenoly death. Sgt. James Fuller said detectives are still looking for one and possibly more individuals in the case.
According to witnesses, Kenoly had just left a party nearby and was walking home when he was confronted by two unidentified people, Trim said.
After a brief altercation with the two, Kenoly boy fell onto the front lawn and the assailants fled the scene.
Kenoly had suffered from asthma, police confirmed Monday but it remains unknown whether the condition played a role in his death. Trim said a coroner's autopsy report, which has not been released, would give more insight into what happened.
