GROVELAND, CA (AP) -- Residents of a rural community near Yosemite National Park have overwhelmingly voted to unseat all five members of its school board.

The Tuolumne County Elections Department said Wednesday that unofficial results show the Big Oak Flat-Groveland Unified School District school board was recalled by more than a 2-to-1 margin, and a slate of new candidates was elected.

Deputy Clerk Mary Ann Whitt said the department has not counted absentee ballots, but it's unlikely the results will change.

The student-led recall effort was launched after the school board voted not to reinstate a popular math teacher over allegations that he committed plagiarism in a course he took at California State University, Fresno. The teacher, Ryan Dutton, was eventually cleared of the charges, but not rehired.
