SACRAMENTO, CA - The on-again, off-again, then on-again Sacramento Santa Parade drew hundreds of spectators to downtown Sacramento early Saturday morning to take part in the city's revived holiday tradition. Floats, marching bands, antique cars and, of course, Santa Claus himself were the highlights of the 26th annual parade, which was rescheduled to December after initially being cancelled last month due to lack of sponsorship. Within days of the cancellation, newly inaugurated Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson gave $20,000 left over from his mayoral campaign coffers to keep the long-standing city tradition going. "It's overwhelming, unbelievable," Johnson said before taking part in the parade early Saturday. "People are just so thankful we were able to save the Santa Parade."
