DIXON, Calif. - The Dixon Police Department is advising boat owners to keep an eye on their watercraft following a series of thefts in the area.
A release issued by the Dixon P.D. stated all the boats stolen had outboard engines, some of which were missing when the vessels were recovered.
Police urged boat owners to park in a secure location. If that is not possible, police recommend locking outboard engines or storing them in a separate and secure location.
Trailer hitch locks have not been sufficient to prevent the recent thefts, according to police.
Anyone with information on the theft of a boat was encouraged to contact the Dixon Police Department's Investigations Unit at (707) 678-7070.
