ROCKLIN, CA - A mother is accused of endangering her daughter's safety after drugs were found in her home on Wednesday.
Family Children Services suspected 45-year-old Kerrie Capo of drug use and went to her apartment, on the 3600 block of Sunset Boulevard, for a welfare check, the Rocklin Police Department said. Inside the unit, they saw numerous prescription bottles and drugs within reach of Capo's 7-year-old daughter.
Police were called to the scene and attempted to arrest Capo for cruelty to a child.
Capo then started kicking and fighting officers, police said. They were eventually able to subdue Capo and took her into custody, with an added charge of resisting arrest.
The little girl was placed into protective custody by Family Children's Services, according to police.
