FOLSOM, CA - Emergency responders reopened Greenback Lane between Auburn-Folsom Road and Madison Avenue after a deadly collision involving a motorcyclist Monday afternoon.
The wreck also involved a Volkswagen Jetta and a minivan at the entrance of Negro Bar State Park on Greenback, officers at the scene said.
The motorcyclist, identified by the Sacramento County coroner on Tuesday as 41-year-old Shane Curtis Clark, was traveling on eastbound Greenback, turning into the park entrance with the right of way when the driver of the Jetta turned in front of him. The impact sent the motorcyclist flying off his bike. A minivan ran over Clark who did not survive.
The driver of the VW, 23-year-old Kaman Hobbs of Truckee, was arrested and booked into custody for vehicular manslaughter, driving with a suspended license, and child endangerment, said Sgt. Jason Browning. Hobbs' young son in the car was reportedly not properly restrained.
Both directions of Greenback were closed until 6 p.m. Traffic was heavy.
