In recognition of the impact Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had on the American civil rights movement, News10 will air special programming this Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 3 p.m.
"The Making of a Holiday" is the story behind the effort to establish a federal holiday to celebrate Dr. King's contribution to our history and future. The program features interviews with history makers who were instrumental in bringing about the holiday, the events leading up to the signing of the bill in Washington, D.C., and President Obama's comments at the dedication of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial.
Martin Luther King Day is observed on the third Monday of January.
