Yuba City man arrested in Feb. homicide

YUBA CITY, Calif. - A Yuba City man was arrested Thursday in connection with a fatal shooting on Del Monte Avenue on Feb. 23.

Yuba City Police Department spokesperson Shawna Pavey said  Carlos Antonio Rodriguez, 22, was arrested as an accessory to murder in the fatal shooting of Michael L. Suarez during a party at Suarez' home.

Rodriguez was booked into Sutter County Jail without bail on suspicion of being an accessory to murder after the fact, criminal street gang participation and probation violation. Pavey said Rodriguez, the third person arrested in the crime, turned himself in to police.

Suspected shooter Ruben Melesio Zamora was arrested March 12. Roberto Zamudio Urquidez, 54; Jedidiah Jose Salazar, 24; and Maria Christina Velasco, 22, were all arrested and released pending further investigation, according to the Appeal-Democrat newspaper.
