Vandal or vandals smash sliding glass door at Stockton City Councilmember Kathy Miller's home, March 10, 2013
STOCKTON, CA - The home of Stockton City Councilmember Kathy Miller was vandalized Sunday afternoon while she was out of town.
Miller arrived home to find a rock, about the size of a baseball, had been thrown through a back sliding-glass door.
Miller declined an interview with News10 but said in a brief statement she didn't "want to speculate" about the possible motive. She said "it was unfortunate it happened", and said she'd hold off on any other comments until an investigation was completed.
Stockton police Officer Joe Silva said the Stockton Police Department had taken a report on the vandalism and would look into the possibility the vandalism was connected to Miller's seat on the city council.
Miller was in the news last week as well when she and Mayor Anthony Silva sparred during a council meeting over Silva's goal of raising taxes to pay for a huge increase in police staffing.
