ORANGEVALE, CA - It took crews about a half-and-hour to control a fire that started in a motor home and spread to a house Saturday afternoon.
Crews responded to the 8300 block of Alaterna Court around 4:30 p.m. after they got multiple calls about a fire inside of a motor parked outside a home on the block, the Sacramento Metro Fire Department said.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, the fire had spread to the kitchen on the first floor, the second floor and the attic of the home.
Metro fire said all the people inside got out of the home safely.
Investigators said the fire started in the motor home, which was destroyed.
Firefighters were about to save $150,000 worth of personal property from the home, but it suffered significant damage.
