Like any big show that's standing room only, empty seats in the world of politics can produce a mad scramble of folks who want in. But in politics, it takes time... and the empty seats often have to be filled before the show can really get going.
In this week's Capitol Connection podcast, we take a look at the musical chairs now underway in the Legislature -- most notably the Assembly -- as vacancies and special elections put the Democratic supermajority power on hold.
Anthony York from the Los Angeles Times and I also talk about the effort to fill seats inside the California Republican Party, a sales job that won't be so easy as new party leadership takes the helm.
We also check in on the power struggle still ongoing between legislators and Gov. Jerry Brown when it comes to shaping California's version of "Obamacare."
