FAIR OAKS, CA - Fair Oaks business leaders were at Mikuni Sushi Tuesday night to celebrate the big re-opening of the restaurant on Wednesday.
The Fair Oaks location of the restaurant chain on Hazel Avenue was damaged by a fire in December. But that didn't stop the owner from rebuilding and remodeling.
"They originally told me 4 months," owner Taro Arai. "We finished it in 45 days. So I'm very thrilled, I'm very happy to get it done so quickly."
The Fair Oaks location of Mikuni was the first and the original restaurant in the popular sushi chain. Mikuni was established 25 years ago.
There are eight Mikuni locations including one in Denver.
