The store's owner, Jeffrey Tran, tells the newspaper the man asked to see a box of loose diamonds and then pulled out a gun.
The suspect got away with the entire box. Tran couldn't immediately say how many diamonds were stolen or how much they were worth.
Tran says he and his wife were alone in the store at the time of the robbery.
The couple has owned the store for about a decade.
