SACRAMENTO, CA - A man was convicted of murder in the shooting death of a man in June 2010 on Wednesday.
Carlton Reid was convicted by a jury for first degree murder for shooting and killing Gregory Lewis on Saturday, June 5, 2010, Sacramento County District Attorney spokesperson Shelly Orio said.

The shooting happened near Northgate Boulevard and West El Camino Avenue next to a 7/11 store. Police said the shooting was related to drugs.
The victim's son told police Lewis was arguing with someone over the phone and set-up a meeting for that night at the 7/11 store. Orio said when Lewis and Reid met, they began to struggle; Reid then pulled out a gun and shot Lewis several times.

Police used surveillance cameras, phone records and witness reports to identify Reid as the suspect.
Orio said Reid faces a potential sentence of 50 years to life in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 30.
