Van hit by train at Watt Ave. and Folsom Blvd. in Sacramento on Monday, October 29.
SACRAMENTO - A man was taken to hospital Monday morning after his van was hit by a Union Pacific train in the area of Watt Ave. and Folsom Blvd. around 9:50 a.m.
According to witnesses at the scene, the man was trying to beat the oncoming train across the tracks when he was hit. The man was taken to UC Davis medical center with minor injuries and the van was towed from the scene.
A witness estimated the train was only traveling at about 10 mph.
