OAKLAND, CA - Yoenis Cespedes hit a tiebreaking home run in the eighth before Josh Reddick added a two-run shot later in the inning, lifting the Oakland Athletics to a 5-2 win and a three-game sweep of the Seattle Mariners.
Cespedes added an RBI triple for the Athletics, who closed to within 1 1/2 games of AL West-leading Texas. The Rangers are currently playing the Angels in the back end of a day-night doubleheader.
Oakland is 2 1/2 games ahead of Los Angeles for the second wild card spot.
