SACRAMENTO, CA - A documented gang member who shot into a crowd of teenagers at an under-18 club party two summers ago, killing one girl and wounding another has been sentenced 82 years to life in prison.
Javionne Flenory-Davis was convicted of the July 11, 2010 first-degree murder of Lanajah Dupree, 14, and attempted murder of Chanderea Melson, 16, at the private event facility called Venue 4 Rent at 2901 Auburn Boulevard.
According to Sacramento Superior Court documents, Flenory-Davis had a confrontation with rival gang members and ran to a car to get a gun. He came back and fired the 9mm handgun, striking Dupree and Melson.
Dupree was from Sparks, Nevada. Investigators determined neither girl was involved in the gang confrontation.
