STOCKTON, CA - Stockton police detectives have arrested a man in connection with the execution-style killing of another 18-year-old man on Tuesday.
Officer Joe Silva said Manuel Roybal was sitting in a car on the 5800 block of Kermit Lane just after 12:30 that afternoon when Elazer Black is suspected of walking up to him and shooting him.
Friends of Roybal drove him to an area hospital but he did not survive his injuries.
Investigators identified Black as a suspect and Thursday, detectives and U.S. Marshals learned he was staying at a Tracy hotel. He was located there and arrested without incident, Silva said.
Black was booked into San Joaquin County Jail on a homicide charge.
The motive for the shooting was unclear.
Roybal was Stockton's 36th homicide this year.
