Lightning struck three people Sunday afternoon at a Houston-area soccer field, leaving two of them dead, the Houston Chronicle is attributing to the National Weather Service.

When the storm-caused lightning struck at the soccer field in Aldine, Texas, a group of males sought shelter under a tree, according to the Chronicle.
The lightning struck the tree, killing one male, and two other males were struck, according to the news organization.
A second male was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital while the third is in stable condition, the Chronicle reports.

The condition of the third person struck on the soccer field in Aldine, Texas, is unknown, the Chronicle reports. Aldine is about 15 miles north of Houston.
A men's league soccer game was taking place at the time of the storm-caused lightning, according to the news organization.
