Lucky Pal up and walking three days after surgery "like a normal horse."
IONE, CA - Lucky Pal, the horse who was hit by a car and left for dead in Wilton, California last October, died Monday night.
Earlene Friend, who adopted the locally famous Palamino, revealed in an email to News10 on Monday that Lucky Pal had died due to complications stemming from his second surgery last Thursday.
Lucky Pal became somewhat of a local celebrity after his dramatic tale was chronicled in a series of news stories beginning with his initial roadside rescue, continuing through his surgery and recovery, then concluding in what many thought would be a happy ending with his adoption.
