The Diskeeper Corporation has added new features to its upcoming Diskeeper 2011 performance software release.
The software now contains two closely-related technologies to achieve the better system performance: one to prevent up to 85% of fragmentation before (as the company claims) it ever happens and instantly handle any additional fragments which affect system speed and reliability.
The new technology includes Instant Defrag, where the Diskeeper 2011 software monitors newly created fragments and then runs Instant Defrag to remove the fragmentation that is degrading system performance, and Efficient Mode. The latter is a new defrag algorithm that offers "the most net gain in system I/O resource savings ever available".
The 2011 performance update for Diskeeper is expected to go live next week.
