TODAY: Mostly sunny and cold. Morning lows will be near freezing. High warm to the mid 50s in the valley. Sierra highs in the 20s .
TONIGHT: Take steps to protect pipes, and plants tonight. If you have an ill, or elderly pet that doesn't do well in cold temps make sure you keep them warm. Temps will drop to the 20s in the Valley and teens for some foothills spots. Also temps should be below zero near Tahoe. Hard Freeze warning for the overnight hours in the Valley.
THURSDAY: A Hard Freeze Warning is in effect through early Friday. Hard freeze is likely with lows below 30°. Skies will be mostly sunny with highs near 50. Partly cloudy skies in the Sierra. Lows will start below zero with highs in the 20s.
FRIDAY: Another morning with temperatures below freezing. Mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers developing in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 40s. Sierra highs in the 20s with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of snow. Snow level dropping to near 1,000 feet overnight. We could see snow in the Sacramento area this morning into the afternoon. Travel will be tough with snow accumulating on all roads above 1000 ft.
SATURDAY: A continued chance of showers early in the day for the valley with highs in the 40s. Low snow for the foothills with accumulations up to six inches. Up to a foot of snow above 5,000 feet. Sierra highs in the 20s.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny for the valley but still cool with lows near 30° and highs near 50°. The Sierra will continue to see a chance of snow with highs in the 20s.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny for the valley with lows near freezing and highs in the low 50s. Sierra highs in the mid 30s with a continued chance of snow.
TUESDAY: Partly cloudy with a chance of showers returning to the valley. Highs in the mid 50s. Morning lows start in the mid 30s. Sierra skies will be mostly cloudy with a chance of snow. Highs in the 30s.
