ROSEVILLE, Calif. - At least five women met with the Placer County District Attorney Monday to discuss taking further action against recently detained cosmetic surgeon Dr. Efrain Gonzalez.
Four women going into the meeting claimed they suffered physical and emotional scars during botched procedures performed by Gonzalez.
Following the meeting, the women declined comment further, per instructions of the district attorney, who has been investigating Gonzalez for several years.
However, family members of alleged victims did say Gonzalez targeted members of the Latino community.
Gonzalez was taken into custody on Friday, and his home and offices were raided by law enforcement.
The medical board is also in the midst of an ongoing investigation into Gonzalez's practices.
Gonzalez faces several charges including Grand Theft, Battery and False Advertising.
