MERCED, Calif. - A truck carrying liquid iodine spilled 200 to 400 gallons of its load into a Merced waterway Monday morning.
The spill happened in the area of Nickel Rd. and Sand Slough Rd. around 6:40 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Hazmat units and Environmental Health responders were dispatched to the scene for cleanup efforts and evaluation of the spill.
