GREAT HANG UP: Experts say monitoring teen driving and discussing behavior can help keep young motorists safe. Several options including taking a pledge, classes, apps and even a computer chip are available to assist in this seemingly daunting task.
The CarChip, which attaches to the car's dashboard, records up to 300 hours of data. You can then upload the data to your computer to help you discuss driving habits your teen is displaying. The device runs about $80 and some insurance companies offer discounts for chip data.
There is a Family Safety and Health Expo at Safetyville where the technology will be on display from 10 a.m through 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 16th. Safetyville is located at 3909 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento.
