LINCOLN, CA - A fire hydrant was hit by a car in Lincoln Friday afternoon and the Lincoln Fire Department was having trouble turning the water off.

About 3:30 p.m., the hydrant was struck at Twelve Bridges Drive and E. Joiner Parkway. Firefighters on scene said the water was gushing out at 1,500 gallons a minute and they didn't have the proper tool to turn it off.
As of 4:11 p.m., water still poured out.
The driver of the car was not hurt.
