SACRAMENTO - For the first time ever, drivers in a 2011 California Office of Traffic Safety study rated distracted driving due to cell phone use and texting as the most dangerous issue on the road.

More than 38 percent surveyed in the study declared talking or texting while driving was the most dangerous problem on the roads, surpassing aggressive driving or road rage issues.

More than 60 percent claimed talking or texting had been at fault for an accident or near accident.
