SACRAMENTO- The brain blink idea is being researched at UC Davis and targets what happens when your eyes take in images but your brain doesn't "see" or process them.
It's a test of what you focus on versus what you fail to notice when preoccupied with a separate task or object. The study demonstrates what happens when your eyes see something, but your brain fails to register it when focused on something else.
The issue can be a big problem when it comes to driving and talking. A popular video on YouTube by Daniel J Simons looks at selective attention in the invisiblegorilla.com project.
Take the pledge not to text and drive and sign up at our News10 booth at the California State Fair. I'll be there Wednesday night and would love to hear your ideas on what it will take to keep the roads safe.
