SACRAMENTO, CA - A new app from State Farm allows parents to have an extra set of eyes tracking their teens while they drive. It's called the Driver Feedback App and it's free to all, not just State Farm customers.
Here's how it works: Drivers can silence then set their phone down on the passenger seat or nearby and hit "record." The app then scores and logs speeds, braking, etc. Results can then be texted and emailed to parents.
Teen driver Jennifer Matinez and her mom, Therese, use the app and say they find it helpful to see what may need improving. Therese says she knows it's a dangerous time for new drivers and this gives her peace of mind, as if she's there with her daughter in the car even when she physically can't be.
You can take the pledge to stay safe on the roads and not text and drive with the News10 Great Hang Up pledge.
