ARCADIA, FL President Barak Obama is touring the second largest solar power station in America Tuesday.
This on the same day the Desoto Next Generation Solar Energy Center in Arcadia, Florida is switching on to the state's power grid.
Obama plans to talk up clean energy technology and promote his investment in so-called "smart-grid" power transmission technology.
He's expected to announce plans to make available $3.4 billion in government funds. This money would be used to support modernizing the power grid. In addition, projects may include installing "smart" meters in homes, automating utility substations and installing thousands of new digital transformers and grid sensors.
