VACAVILLE, CA - A 23-year-old bicyclist was killed after being struck by a car on Interstate 505 early Friday morning, says the California Highway Patrol.
Officer C.C. Parker said a 41-year-old man from Fairfield was driving his 2008 Dodge on southbound I-505 just north of Midway Road at approximately 12:54 a.m. when he hit the bicyclist who was riding in the southbound lane on the highway. Emergency medical responders pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene.
The Solano County Coroner's Office later identified the bicyclist as Vacaville resident Randy Hunter.
The CHP is investigating.
