SACRAMENTO, CA 5/21/2012 5 p.m.
TONIGHT: Occasional clouds through the evening with clearing toward morning. Evening temperatures will be in the 70s. Overnight lows will be in the middle 50s. Sierra lows fall to near 40. A RED FLAG WARNING is in effect until 2 a.m. for areas south of Lake Tahoe due to gusty winds and dry conditions.
TUESDAY:: Temperatures will stay mild and may be just a few degrees warmer on the western side of the valley and near the delta due to a developing north wind. Highs will be in the mid 80s. Winds reach 15-20mph. Sierra highs will be in the 60s with partly cloudy skies and gusty winds.
WEDNESDAY: Sunny and seasonable with highs near 80 for the valley. Winds will continue at 10-20mph. The Sierra stays dry but partly cloudy.
THURSDAY: Slight cooling expected as a front approaches from the coast. We'll see more a flow off the Pacific bringing valley highs down into the upper 70s to near 80. Sierra highs will be in the 50s.
FRIDAY: The cooling trend peaks with highs in the upper 70s and more clouds for the valley. There's also a threat of rain showers Friday mainly in the Central Sacramento Valley northward and through the Sierra. Thunderstorms are possible for the mountains.
THE WEEKEND: Warmer weather with mostly sunny skies for the valley. Highs in the 80s. The Sierra will continue to see a threat of isolated showers Saturday.
