SLIDESHOW: Sacramento Hard Rock Cafe guitar comes down
SACRAMENTO, CA - One of downtown Sacramento's most iconic images is no more after crews took down the 36-foot-high giant guitar replica in front of Downtown Plaza's Hard Rock Cafe Saturday night.
The neon-covered sign at 7th and K streets has anchored the east entrance to Westfield's Downtown Plaza since the Sacramento Hard Rock Cafe location opened in 1997.
The restaurant chain owned by Orlando-based Hard Rock International announced last month the Sacramento location would close March 27 when its lease expired. The restaurant served its last meals and closed for good Friday night.
