SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA - Two men were arrested Saturday after the pastor of a San Joaquin County church arrived to find crooks looting his parish, according to a San Joaquin County Sheriff's spokesman.
William Rigsby and Dennis Machado were arrested and face several charges in connection with the incident at the Family Life Church east of Stockton on the 700 block of South Drake Avenue around 1 p.m. Saturday, San Joaquin County Sheriff's spokesman Les Garcia said.
Garcia said the pastor arrived to find the church door open and two men running down the block. After the pastor called 911, deputies arrived and quickly apprehended Rigsby and Machado just two blocks away from the church.
A search of the church parking lot turned up vehicles belonging to Rigsby and Machado, both loaded with stolen property from the church, Garcia said.
Rigsby and Machado were booked into the San Joaquin County Jail facing burglary, possession of stolen property and conspiracy charges.
