ANTELOPE, CA - Authorities have lifted a lockdown at Antelope Crossing Middle School on Palmerson Drive following the peaceful resolution to a nearby standoff.
Sacramento County sheriff's deputies had cordoned off a house on the 8200 block of Greenock Way a little before noon where a man had barricaded himself in a house, said Sgt. Tim Curran. A sheriff's deputy reported hearing a gunshot but the barricaded man's wife said he isn't supposed to have any firearms.
The gunshot report turned out to be unfounded, said Curran. He said the man had a beanbag shotgun. The man was taken in an ambulance to be medically evaluated before being charged, Curran said.
Authorities cleared the scene at 1 p.m.
