MOUNT KNIGHT, CA - A two-day-old fire in the foothills of Stanislaus County threatens the community of Mount Knight.
Fire officials have ordered evacuations for 30 homes in Mount Knight in the Stanislaus National Forest because of the 600-acre Knight Fire.
The flames are in rocky, steep terrain north of Twain Harte and near Mount Knight on the Middle Fork of the Stanislaus River.
The blaze erupted just after 4 p.m. Sunday. There is no containment.
Cal Fire, U.S. Forest Department and county firefighters are at the scene.
